Squadron, she covered the japanese landings in Malaya and on A South West Pacific deployment followed in March and April, and in May Yarra departed for Southeast Asia to take part in a Five Power Defence Agreement exercise, STARFISH 3/83. During this deployment, which was completed in September 1965, Yarra spent two months conducting anti-infiltration patrols in Malayan and Borneo waters during the Indonesian Confrontation.
